We have been in our new house for exactly 12 months now..... We started painting before even moving our furniture in ( it was MUCH easier that way) and literally came home after work and painted for hours every day! ( with help from family and our good friend, Joe). We painted, ceilings.... ( and let me tell you the Cathedral ones were a pain in the butt!)...... We painted the Kitchen, Great Room, Hallway, Main Bath, Guest Room, Home office, Master Bedroom. Few months later we painted my studio in the Basement, as well as half of the basement. We got soooooo much done, in such little time... and then...
Neither one of us wanted nothing to do with another brush, roller, paint sample....EVER again ( well, at least not for a while anyway! lol).
Sooooo last weekend, was our Anniverary, and since the cruise is pretty much an Anniversary gift to one another, I told him the ONLY thing I want, is for the bathroom to be painted! Well, we do have some good friends coming to stay with us, from out of town soon ( so that gave us a bit of a swift kick in the butt as well lol). Sooo tomorrow, all we ( well him- Im sick... ugh!! and even worse, have a wedding to do tomorrow-go figure huh?)need to do is last minute touch ups and another coat on the ceiling- then he can put up the new light, towel bar and toilet paper holder up. Finally, rid of the nasty horrible color that was "peachy- mauvy" lookin from the previous home owners...will be gone for good! Its a small bath but I think it brightened up ALOT. Even though...surprise surprise, the paint color looks totally different than the swap I pickd ( the color is "morning fog" from Lowes) Our bedroom is like a taupe with a chocolate brown accent wall, and we have a light grey blueish window treatments, that I was trying to tie into the bathroom. Its lighter than I expected but at this point I am just happy to see the horrible Mauvy color go!
The other half of the basement and the basement stair way ( which I know is going to be a HUGE pain to paint)is pretty much all we have left. Besides a few small touch ups here and there. I think I will definatly be tryin to tackle the rest before Christmas. And then eventually the home office will be repainted. We chose a light color for there as a temporary color so that we could eventually transform it to a Nursery. So hopefully other than that, this last project is the last time I'll have to see another paint brush for a WHILE!!!( thank god!! lol)Well unless our friends move- then it will be our turn to return the favor but as for this place, we will be home free- yay!lol
This is not a good pic but its a "Before" pic... stay-tuned for after pics, shortly! =)
